 Tempe High School Class of 1969 - Latest News 06-08-2009 - Meeting Minutes - June 5, 2009 THS Reunion meeting – June 5, 2009 – Rustlers Rooste Attendees: Mark Kirchner and wife Nancy (class of ’69 North High), Bill Richardson and son Danny, Gary Patton, Ed and Diane Grant, Genie Davis and Robert, Ann Hurlebaus Swartz, Gail Vesper (from Payson), and Greg Tate called in from Tennessee. Our meeting took place at Rustler’s Rooste. We were given a large platter of appetizers to sample for our event. Thanks to Gary and Ed for picking up that tab for the drinks. After the sun went down we walked out to the patio where our event will be. The city lights were beautiful and we agreed it will be a great site for the reunion. We decided that the décor the restaurant provides is quite adequate (thanks Genie), and the price is right. Being further was good as well as it was difficult to talk being so close to the band. Plans for Friday night, Oct. 23rd are still in limbo. We’re waiting to hear if Doug Royse will be planning the ‘Buff Bash’ that evening. If not the other two options are Aunt Chiladas’ for cocktails or possibly Grady’s offices in downtown Tempe. Paulette’s got that evening covered. I spoke with Linda (McDonald) Jones by phone. She’s going to research hotels in the area. She’ll send the contact information to Pat (Donovan) Gill to post on the website to assist those coming in from out of town. She’s checking to see if we can get any deals. Mark Kirchner suggested the committee send in our reservation and money as it will give us some funds to work with. Its $50 per head and checks are to be made to: ‘Tempe High Class of 1969’, and mail to: Tempe High C/o Mark Kirchner 5101 N. 10th Pl. Phx AZ 85014 Larry designed flyers (#133) that were mailed out earlier in the week to classmates we have not yet heard from but had old addresses on. Those responses are still coming in, and some already entered their info. online. We’ll send another the first of Sept. along with the invitation on the THS site. We’ll need a final head count by Oct. 15th, 2009. Pat put together some charts and spread sheets that indicate 61% of our class has been contacted. Amazing, as I believe only 20% or so in the past were found. We decided not to meet in July as many will be out of town.
