Peter, you are not forgotten! You are truly missed and loved by all who knew you at Tempe High School. A few of us have spent time with you at the Vietnam Wall in Washington D.C. After only three months in battle, you sacrificed your life on October 30, 1970 in a far away land while fighting for the freedom of others. It is a very noble thing to give your life for another man’s freedom. Peter, you are a “True Hero” by any standard.
You were a kind, gentle soul to all who were lucky enough to know you. Even though you didn’t excel in some tasks, you always gave 110% effort in everything you attempted. By your sacrifice, you have been a great inspiration and have taught many lessons. You have inspired others to serve their country. You have taught that one must separate unpopular government policies from the individuals who are called to serve, and that the role of civilians is to make sure government policy is well thought out and discussed before the young men and women of this country are asked to lay down their lives without question.
Peter, you were taken from us far too early. We will remember you always……
