Not to get too morbid, but all of us are pushing 60. How much time do you think you might have left? What do you want to do with that time?
Vicki Smith and I were talking about this the other night. (We talk a lot)
I would like to experience:
completing my Masters of Science in Nursing/Family Nurse Practitioner degee,
practice as a Nurse Practitioner,
paying off my student loans,
sitting on the fronch porch rocking my grandbabies, while watching the sunset over a field of alfalfa,
raise golden retrievers,
just to name a few, I will not bore you with anymore.

Isn't it nice to have somebody to talk to that you have so much history with? There's nothing to explain, as they know you so well, and what you get is that feeling that everything going to be ok once you've finished the conversation. I used to have this with my mom, and now I have it with my younger sister. A true friend is valuable at any age and stage of life.
A bucket list of our very own?? For me, it's to help the earth however I can, get published, pay off my mortgage and avoid health problems for as long as I can.
Before I die:
sleep soundly through the night every night
become much more bold in my art - and do a lot more of it
visit Scotland, Spain, and Italy
get my kids through college and see them start careers and get married
My life has been good and I've had numerous adventures. I started in music and art and ended up being an Earth Scientists. My last desire is to spend time on the crater of Anak Krakatau (Child of Krakatoa) located in the Sunda Strait between Sumatra and Java. In August 1883, Krakatoa erupted and produced the most violent explosion in recorded history. The eruption almost completely destroyed the original volcano, but new eruptions have since rebuilt it. Aren't you glad you asked, however what a sight. Instantaneously my atoms would be disbursed miles into the atmosphere, contributing to global cooling; this is the normal affect of a massive volcanic eruption.
At last in my older age I have become an independent filmmaker and I love it. I'm now working on several documentaries and maybe my last one will be an eruption of Anak Krakatau. So now I am excepting funds for this adventure to this great volcano. I had included a jpg.
Life has blessed me so far, I have no immediate plans to check out, and I've enjoyed my life. There are a few things I would have done different, drank too much beer in my younger days and missed alot that went on around me, wish I spent more time with my wife and kids as they were growing up. but that got fixed, and is history. I get a kick out of helping people, kids especially. I was on the elementary and high school governing board for 22 yrs and it was fun watching kids grow up as they went thru school. We would like to get involved helping seniors (heck, I are one) or youth in some way. I want to make a difference in some kids life. I really enjoy making people smile and be happy, life is too short to be a jerk. After I check out, I want to be remembered with a smile. I've told my kids my funeral is to be a celebration and I get to choose the ending. I want them to hire 6 clowns to come into the church and carry me out to a clown car and play circus music on the way to the cemetery. Gotta leave em smilin

Tommy (not confusing you with Tommy W)
cool picture of the volcano. sounds like lots is going on with you. the picture looks very similar to an island named boob island....:0)
I agree that grandkids have a lot to do with it if one is so blessed, especially if they live close by. This Spring term my grandsons and I 'traded' concerts - Judy and I attended their school programs (one's a trumpeter, the other sings) and then the boys were good enough to attend mine in early June. Their room at out house is all Western (Judy's quite the decorator & artist, has made it a bunkhouse), and the June concert was all cowboy & western songs. Finally got to wear that bolo tie....
And Tanner's concert had a medley from 'Wicked,' a most amazing musical, that Judy & I enjoyed a lot.

Bucket list:
I would like to travel to many more countries. I've been fortunate to see many places, and want to continue that.
I want to continue to foster doggies for the AZHS, and help them heal and find their forever homes.
I want to be a Grandma.
I want to find as many ways as I can to bring joy into the lives of other people. It makes me happy.
I have to say I have already had an incredibly wonderful life, and would feel complete if I died tomorrow.
Great topic Gail as we reflect on 60+yrs.
I've been doing some of that lately, as our fourth and final 'child' gets married next weekend, and we celebrate our 40th Wedding Anniversary the end of May.
My greatest joy, hopes and dreams have to do with our family. They extend no further than wanting to be the best daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend I can be, and there's room for improvement in all those areas. Ed wishes I cooked more but that's not happening.
We've been blessed beyond measure. We count our time at THS and the friends we made there as some of the best and are grateful for the opportunity to keep connected through this site.
We hope each of you, too, realize your dreams.
