That sure does look like Rick Mercer.

Larry, wasn't he the lead in 'Oliver'?  It sure looks like him.  Maybe both.

Strange how the memory works.  Rick didn't graduate with us, and I don't have any of the yearbooks, so I haven't thought of him in decades.  But when I saw the picture, 'Rick Mercer' came to mind.  Somethin' must still be working up there.  Or it could be the four cups of coffee a day.

I checked the program.  Rick was the lead in Oliver.  He didn't graduate with us because he had transferred to McClintock before the production actually opened.  I don't know if the picture on the cover is him, but like you his name immediately to mind when I saw it.

Judy,
It popped into my little brain about Rick Mercer performing as Oliver even though he attended McClintock.

Gail, speaking of pea brains, it took me a week to see that under Rick Mercer's picture was the word 'Oliver'.  I thought I had thought that I remembered it all by myself!

Diane, it has nothing to do with brain capacity.  It just means you need to put on your reading glasses.

I remember a bunch of us attending that musical, just because of Rick.  The only musical at THS I remember attending.

Pretty sure the 'Horse of a Different Color' card that Judy posted was drawn by Joe Campbell.  He used to draw stuff like this on the blackboards.  Had a high, fake girl's laugh (so did Rundle).  Looks like he didn't graduate with us.

i remember Rick and you all are right, it does look like him but not sure. Did anyone google him to see if he can be found. We could ask him. I would but I'm at work and google triggers the tech guys we aren't working. So far this site is safe. Does anyone remember any other musicals we put on? I think I went to several, but only remember Calamity Jane.

I remember going to 'Annie Get Your Gun'. Don't remember who was in it or which year it was. (Imagine that!)

Re:  Ann's question about where Rick is now.  www.pipl.com is free and turns up some good leads on people.  You have to sort through what it gives you.  It's helped me quite a bit.

I have a few more programs from musicals and plays.  Fiddler on The Roof is one I know.  I'll post all with casts in the next couple of days.

Annie Get Your Gun, starred Anne Hughes (my cousin) as Annie Oakley and Fred Stone as the male lead, Frank Butler.  I went twice, because of the cousin connection, and for months hummed 'Anything you can do, I can do better'; the only song I remember from the play.

There was also Finnegan's Rainbow. I know Charlie Brownd and Mark Ramos had singing roles. I think Charlie played the town mayor and I don't remember who Mark Ramos played, but he had a strong voice. I was in the orchestra, so attended lots of rehersals. 'How Are Things in Glocamora?' was the song I remember the best, but it's not as catchy as the tune from 'Annie.'

Refer to Peter Staddons 14th message about Fred Stone.

I'm pretty sure that is Rick Mercer.  He was my next door neighbor until that year whem his family moved to the McClintock district.  Same thing happened with Joe Campbell who lived across the street from me.  His parents divorced our freshmen year and he ended up at McClintock, also.  Last I heard of Joe he was in Colorado and was making a living from his artwork and had gotten out of construction (SOME OF 'EM ARE LUCKIER)

It is Ricky Mercer.  I remember going to see the musical with Linda.  He was a cutie.  He got into some very shady business when I was in college.  I would be surprised if he isn't incarcerated from what I heard.  Too bad.
