I MADE my Memorial Day!  I just visited the Vietnam Traveling Memorial Wall and finally got to see (and etch) the name of Pfc. PETER B. STADDON where he is forever in a place of honor for making the ultimate sacrifice for his country.

An AWESOME and moving experience and something I'll never forget!!!

Steve,

If you ever have the chance to visit the real wall in DC, it is more moving.  I have visited Peter a couple of times there.

Yes, the Vietnam Memorial is quite moving in D.C. Elson. I remember seeing Buck Albright's name, from THS.  The etching of Peter's name you posted is too, Steve.  Seeing the WWII Memorial come to completion was also a thrill.  It too is quite a tribute.
Ed and I visited the Veteran's Memorial on top of Mt. Soledad in LaJolla just yesterday.  My Dad's face, the ship he served on in the Navy, and his job, is etched in a plaque along with thousands of other plaques of Veteran's.  There's a 360 degree view, and a huge, white cross that's been there over 100yrs. If you're ever in the area, it's well worth the short drive to the top.  They have a ceremony each year on Memorial Day, honoring them.  The Mt. Soledad Memorial continues to grow as our men and women in service continue to offer up the ultimate sacrifice.

I just can not get enough of The Wall. I have been to Washington twice. I escorted The Wall by Motorcycle from Tempe to Vegas once and helped set it up. Then I saw The Wall in Vegas once before that and then last year in Flagstaff. To the Memory of Becker and Stover always in 'My Heart'. This happened while I was in VN and that was a very hard thing for all of us who knew them. Then Peter and now Buck Albright. Becker and Stover like myself were with the 60th Assault Helicopter Co.--Flight Name 'Ghost Riders'. We or 115 Americans flew Air Support for 24 Thousand Koreans of the White Horse Division.
