Memory Lane Movies

I recently rewatched a movie I've always loved that I think captures many of our memories:  'Same Time Next Year.'  If you don't know it, it's the story of a relationship that starts in 1951 (when most of us were born) and lasts for 25 years, showing what was going on in the country and their lives every five years.  Guaranteed to make you sniffle.  I love it even more since moving to Northern California and staying a night or two at the inn where the movie takes place.

Jean,

The movie that did it for me was 'Peggy Sue Got Married.'

Peggy Sue was given a chance return to high school and see it from an adult perspective. She sang to the national anthem, carried on real conversations with her parents and got a lot of strange looks from her classmates.

I have imagined being able to reutrn to Sept. 1968 and see it all again.

Hi Phyllis,
I had the same reaction to 'Peggy Sue Got Married'.  If we only knew then, what we know now!

Both of those movies were great.

I like the movie sound track of Peggy Sue Got Married (esp. the first 4 cuts, but the others are fun, too).

Other Movies - Baseball

Speaking of movies....   Despite having little connection to baseball itself, I seem to have gravitated to baseball (& -related) movies.  My favorites have been:

Bull Durham
The Natural
Field of Dreams
A League of their Own
Mr. Destiny
The Rookie
Ken Burns' Baseball

and there are many others - I guess baseball just lends itself to drama, a back story, and whatever historical moment one chooses.
