Just thought it might be fun to reminisce about some old and new movies. I asked Ed his favorite. First he said he wasn't going to tell me. I told him I was going to say 'The Notebook' and he quickly gave me his answer (see below).
Old Yeller - cried when he/she died
Bambi - cried when her mother burned in the fire
Sound of Music (thanks Paulette for the memory of 'Raindrops on Roses' song)
saw that one with the family at the Palm Theatre on Central
Goldfinger - died of embarassement in HS when the naked girls swam around
Miracle on 34th St.-we watch it every year while baking cookies with my girls
Christmas vacation - a tradition to watch with whole family every year
Caddy Shack (Ed's favorite)
Dumb and Dummer (another of Ed's favorites)
The Notebook (my favorite, not Ed's)
Saving Private Ryan (think of my Navy vet Dad in WWII and others who served)
UP - current animated movie, with an incredibly sweet story
Diane, you were reading my mind or something. I was going to start a thread on movies this morning (Twilight Zone music plays).
Tombstone, with Kurt Russell, and Val Kilmer
The Kid, with Bruce Willis
Tortilla Soup
Bullit
The Princess Bride
Heaven Can Wait
The Man Who Would Be King
Movies are a great topic, but I'm going to slant it to actors and actresses.
I Like films with any of the following actors, but I'll name my favorite film with this performer:
Clark Gable - It Happened One Night
Cary Grant - North by Northwest
Ralph Fiennes - The English Patient
Daniel Day-Lewis - The Age of Innocence
Bill Murray - Groundhog Day
Bette Davis - All About Eve
Lauren Bacall - The Big Sleep

Marilyn Monroe
Kim Novak - Some LIke it Hot
You guys have mentioned some great ones. Some of my favorites:

Two memorable scary ones, Invasion of the Body Snatchers and The Birds. I was deathly afraid of pod people and my parakeet after those two.
A current movie which will certainly be a favorite is The Hangover, it is so very funny, Ed you would like this one it is right up there with Dumb And Dumber!

All Creatures Great & Small (Tristan, you're the best!)

As long as we're doing TV, I was a This Old House addict for years, and think Bob Villa was the best host. I still would like to have an old house -- just not up to spending my time doing all the repairs, though.

To Wong Fu with Julie Newmar
The Usual Suspects
Young Frankenstein
LIfe is Beautiful

Maybe it was Mary Poppins?
Do you remember that Boyer Boyer's brother Richard chauffeured Boyer and Annette and you and me? He let us off at one end of Daley Park so we could walk to the other end alone! Gad! Us Payne kids were a little slow, weren't we? Smart but slow!
And when I was a kid:
South Pacific
Flower Drum Song
Seems like there are others, buy my photogenic mind (thanks GW) needs jump starting this morning after sleeping in a 90 degree bedroom last night -- Seattle hit 103 yesterday. Not a big deal to Aridzonans, except that Seattloonians don't have air conditioning. I ate ice cream three times yesterday to cool down! And Phyllis, you do look mahvelous in those Foster Grants. Hope someone grabbed a brick or two from the school.

Socially slow but what a sweet time and a sweet memory. I still remember that when I first came to Payne training school the girls would go around holding hands (we're talking 7th grade here). Looking back It is a treasured memory. What a gift, to sit in class next to people who were so talented; Pete Shelton, Grady Gammage, Boyer Rickel, Genie Davis, Annette Hoover, etc. How about a reunion 4 square game?!! I still remember how thrilling it was to hold hands with Pete Shelton. SWEET
It was fun when you joined our class in 7th grade. We needed some new blood. Remember when you, Annette and I were camp partners during our school visit to Camp Tonazona in Payson, for a week? I loved that week each year we went during 6th, 7th and 8th grades. What a great opportunity!
