I came into town this week and as I always do when I'm here, I was going to go visit my friend Gary Trimeloni up in Prescott Valley. I called and called and couldn't get an answer. Finally, I did a search and found contact info for his family. I called every number I found until I got hold of his brother. He gave me the sad news that Gary passed away on April 1, 2015. I had jst been to see him in January of that year. I thought I had spoken to him on the phone since then, but apparently not. Goes to show you how fast time slips by. That January was the last time I was in town and I hadn't called him since then. It makes me doubly sad that he died a year and a half ago and I didn't know it. He was really sick with a lot of different ailments, but you still don't expect It. Most of you may not remember Gary. because he didn't finish high school with us, but he was a really close friend since the 4th grade when my family moved to Tempe. When we got reacquainted at (I think) the 40th year reunion it was immediately just like the old days. I will surely miss seeing him and I will miss the trips up to PV to share a meal and a good visit with him.
In case you didn't know or don't remember Gary, here he is at the 40 year reunion with my wife Linda (Gilmore) and also at my 10th birthday party in 1961. He's front row center.
Diane,
I can name all but two of them. Kneeling are Greg Bunger, Joe Ong, Robert Reeder, Wayne (?), Tommy Espinosa trying to hide behind Gary Trimeloni, Wally Staddon, Ted Maish, Peter Staddon and Charles Angrove. Standing is me, (?), (?), Danny Henderson, and Sharon Dempsey.
Joe Ong was the son of Lee Ong who owned the Lee's Grocery Store behind our cul-de-sac on University. The building is still there.
I have tried to remember who the unknowns are and asked others if they can name them without any luck.
(fyi) Looking past the house to the right, the house you see is on the NE corner of 9th & Margo because the 3 houses between ours and the corner had not been built yet.
