Last night I was watching the news (Channel 12 for those of us here in the Valley) and there was a segment on $100 million of federal stimulus money coming here to the Valley.
Turns out it's for a local company called E-Tech (or something like it) who will be using the $100million to set up and install charging stations for electric cars.
Guess who's president of the company?
When it gave his name and ran a clip, I knew it was a familar name and face. I thumbed through the yearbook to make sure, and yes, it is!
I didn't know Don Karner in high school, although his name was certainly familar to me.
Hooray! is all I can say. I mean, I recycle, compost and have a garden, but here's a guy who's doing something impactful for all of us and for the planet, too. And he went to Tempe High!
I have not kept in touch with Don. Don was a friend of mine and Mario Frank Paola's for pretty much all of our Junior and Senior years. I think Mario and Don were friends, even before High School. Mario and Don were my friends when everyone else in the Band did not have time for me. We all got in a Fight right after High School and I know Mario has spoke with Don a couple times over the years. As I think of it Karner was right in the Arguement. For 38 years I wanted to Apologize to Don. What a better place to say sorry. Also a mutual friend from the past and McClintock HS Brian Bobb died a little over a year ago. In case Karner did not here. Thanks Phyllis.
Louis
You're welcome. I didn't know about any of the things you wrote about, but I'm glad to hear that we all recover from arguments and rethink our positions.
I wish Don Karner would join in about now and tell us his feelings.
Tracker Cannon said that Don Karner was the lead engineer for Palo Verde when it was being built. I guess he hid his intelligence, as he blended in very well at THS and who knew he guy was so smart? Kind of like Elson Shields!
Paola told me years ago DK was VP of Palo Verde. All my respects to Elson to, as we had a lot of doing together to. I also want to say I am so proud of Jack Hunter. I have not expressed my feelings about Jack. But he's great. Then all the Ladies from THS who have gone back to School. I do not know who, the total count.
I am one of those ladies who went back to school...! I am now a real estate broker, since this past January. There were classes, tests and more tests, and lots of fees to pay, but I made it through. I know this is different than what Carol Peyman, Gail Vesper and others are doing, but there are many ways to better yourself and improve your mind. I know from reading the posts that you did the same, Louie.
You have a lot to be proud of as well. Jack Hunter, too. Don't you wish we'd had him as a teacher when we were at THS?

If you want to know what I'm doing with it, it is the subjuct of a tutorial
on how to use my agency 'web Gis eMaps' to help Realtors find information about Superfund, for property disclosure statements.
You'll have to write your e-mail address here, as it is not listed. To access the SPUDS, I have to enter an online software program, select the SPUDS and then give it an e-mail address. So I need yours, dude...
I am Louis Langhi's ex wife- we were married 18 years in Las Vegas. And my daughter Alicia is the one that you were all so nice to help her be able to attend Louis' funeral.
Well I was talking to Mario Paola and he had mentioned Donald Karner and sai he would like to find him. I remembered Lou always talking about what they all did. So I was looking on here and saw this 'where is Don Karner' and then I saw what Lou wrote about wanting to say he was sorry about the fight.
Well I felt if Lou knew where Don was he would have written him. So I wanted to let Don know what Lou wnated to tell him. I copied Lou's part and emailed it to Don.
Don said for me to give anyone that wanted his information to them. So I thought I would post it here for you.
