Body:	<i>Glad to hear you're sober and still with us, Gary. Reading what you wrote about Jim Morrison reminded me of a journalist I once knew well. His name was Steve Webb and he covered rock'n'roll. He told me that the reason he decided to do this was because of Jim Morrison, and this is the story about that: Steve Webb was about 2 years younger than we are, and he was in college in 1971, the year Jim Morrison died. Steve dated a girl whose older sister was the best friend of Jim Morrison's girlfriend. Steve said the night Jim died his girlfriend called her old college roommate. She was drunk and crying. She said that she and Jim had been in a fight and she had thrown a chair at him and hit him in the head. It calmed Jim down, and caused him to sit down, apparently dazed. A bit later he said he felt like taking a bath. He drew the bath water and got in the tub. The girlfriend found him at some point later, dead. She felt she had caused his death from hitting him with the chair, and she called her old roomate to get advice about what she should do. Steve Webb said none of this ever came out, and you will recall that Jim Morrison's death was not investigated, and he was buried immediately afterwards. The girlfriend returned to the U.S. and died of a drug overdose within a year or so. This is not an urban myth! This was relayed to me by Steve Webb around 1987.</i> *
