Body:	<i>Did your dad work as a Tempe policeman for a short time? I heard someone mention Matoon a few weeks ago. Hi Bill, Yes, my dad was on the Tempe Police force for several years during the fifties. If I remember right they only had 2 squad cars when he started and only one way radios. They would get a call but would have to use a phone to call back in to the dispatch. I have quite a few news clippings with his name or picture that were in the Tempe Daily News. I also have a lighter that has all the names of the men on the force at the time that they gave to him when he quit . My brother Steve was also a policeman for a few years, but that was in San Francisco. Nancy, I remember when Steve was on SFPD. I'd love to see the old clippings. Can you scan them and send them to me? I know some old timers who'd get a bang out of them.</i> *
