Body:	<i>Phyllis and Louis, Back to the thumb issue. I apparently need a little sympathy, as I have to tell you I've had surgery on my left thumb twice. Once from a skiing accident (pole) back in '80. We were skiing in Tahoe and it was so cold I didn't really know it had been injured that bad until I blew the ACL in my left knee later that day. They carried me off the Mt. and while in the ER I asked if they would mind checking my thumb too, as it hurt once it thawed. Tore some cartilege. Then after our son's wedding in 2000 in Beaver Creek, CO (August), we rode the ski chairs to the top of the Mt. for what I thought was a 'leisurely' ride down the Mt. Nope, fell, messed up the same thumb again. I now have a plate and 4 screws in it but it works and feels fine. Thanks for listening. I feel so much better. Diane</i> *
